Sacred Fire: Ruby Blossom Tea to Channel Anger with Purpose

I’ve been sitting with anger lately—the kind that rumbles low and deep, born not from trivial irritations but from witnessing wounds too big to bear. It’s a flame that demands attention, one that could easily scorch the edges of my spirit if I don’t treat it with care. Anger, I’ve come to learn, is not the enemy. It’s a messenger, a fiery sentinel of boundaries crossed, values ignored, or pain too long unspoken.

Yet the question remains: what do we do with it? How do we honor anger without letting it consume us?

I’ve found that anger, when met with compassion, becomes alchemy. When I sit with it, breathe into it, and listen to its roots, it transforms. It becomes the raw material for courage, the spark that reignites my will to protect, create, and love. This process isn’t instant. It’s a practice—a sacred one. And in moments when the flames feel too wild to tame alone, I turn to the earth for support.

There’s a tea I brew, one I call Ruby Blossom. Its herbs feel like allies, each chosen for their ability to hold and guide me through this work. The blossoms of RED CLOVER and ROSE cradle the heart in softness, while HIBISCUS lends its deep, grounding tang, reminding me to root down. CALENDULA offers a golden note of resilience, ROOIBOS whispers ancient wisdom, and LEMONGRASS brightens the edges of my mind. LEMON BALM soothes restless thoughts, ST. JOHNS WORT lights a lantern in the dark, and COMFREY knits together the frayed threads within.

The act of brewing this tea itself is a ritual. I place equal parts of each herb in a bowl, running my fingers through their textures as I set my intention: to transform the fire of anger into the strength to act with integrity and love. As the kettle sings and steam rises, I feel a shift—a softening, a readiness to channel what once felt overwhelming.

While sipping a well-steeped cup of Ruby Blossom, I sometimes weave a spell. The tea’s essence infuses the working, grounding my words in its magic.

I light a candle—red for passion, orange for vitality, or blue for calm, depending on what feels right. I hold the warm mug in both hands, whispering:

Flame within, burn bright and true,

Guide my heart in all I do.

Anger, speak and show the way,

To strength and courage, come what may.

With each sip, I envision the fire within transforming—not extinguished, but tempered, glowing with purpose. I let the candle burn as I move through my day, letting its light remind me that the spark of anger, when honored, can illuminate paths of change, healing, and love.

The world feels heavy sometimes, and it’s easy to let the weight make us brittle. But we are resilient. We are alchemists of the spirit, capable of turning even the fiercest flames into the gold of action and care. Trust the process. Honor the fire.
